Glenferrie Primary is a caring school with a close knit community. We see children, parents and teachers together meeting the challenges of the future. The school community has a high percentage of tertiary educated adults who expect high academic standards. They send their children to school well prepared to learn and are prepared to offer the school generous support to achieve their ambitions for their children.

Parents involvement is active and community members are encouraged to participate in a wide variety of school activities such as School Council and its committees, fundraising, bookstall, uniform shop, parent education programs, classroom support, Perceptual Motor Program, interschool sport, Bridging the Gap, working bees and excursions.

Glenferrie Parents & Friends is a group of parents who coordinate and organise social events and fundraising activities for the school. Their main aim is to foster a strong sense of community within the school and provide support to teachers, children and other members of the school community. The fundraising events have allowed the school to purchase equipment and improve facilities that otherwise would not have been covered in the school’s budget. Parent volunteers are welcomed.  P&F advertise their events in advance and generally include: A school disco, Mothers and Fathers Day activities, a parents welcome drinks function amongst others.
